Brain
Настоящее имя: Brain
German label.
Label Code: LC 3230 / LC 03230.
Pioneer German label in electronic music and krautrock, established by A&R men Bruno Wendel and Günter Körber in late-1971 as a co-release label in partnership with Metronome. In 1974 Körber left to set up his own Sky Records. The management then changed with Brain being bought over as a Metronome sub-label.
The first releases [1001 to 1091] in the 1000 series, as well as 5 releases in the 60.000 series [60.007, 60.008, 60.009, 60.010 and 60.019] and one sampler with number 888 had the green Brain label. Originals of 1001 to 1055 had a slightly darker green color than the second editions and original editions of 1056 to 1091. Also the first pressings of 1001 to 1055 have "Metronome" written on the label below the Brain logo (1972 - 1974). If this is text is missing, then the record is a repressing from 1974 or later.
The second Green Brain no longer uses the Metronome logo (1974 - 1976). You will find this one on all remaining Brain 1000 numbers and on the earliest Brain 60.000's. Brain 1001 - 1055 pressings with this label are mid-1970s reprints.
The third variation (1977 - 1980) is usually referred to as orange or Multicolour Brain. It was used for the remainder of the 1970s.
The plain black label (1980 - ) was the standard Brain label for the 1980s. Many of the early releases have been reissued with this label.
