The Zodiak
Настоящее имя: The Zodiak
Underground music venue established in 1968 by Conrad Schnitzler, also known as The Zodiak Free Arts Lab. It was the first Berlin venue to host events by Fluxus artists, rock groups and free jazz musicians, including the likes of Agitation Free, Ash Ra Tempel, Kluster, Tangerine Dream, etc., and is often cited as a key birthplace of what became known as Krautrock. The earliest known recording of a performance there is documented on Live At The Zodiak - Berlin 1968 and extracts from a documentary film about the venue can be found on YouTube.
After being closed for 38 years, the very same venue opened again under the name The Zodiac in 2009.
