EMI Electrola

The trademark of the German record company EMI Electrola GmbH, appearing regularly on German pressings from 1972 to 2002 (with infrequent occurrences between 1983 and 1994). When only the EMI Electrola logo appears without any other logo, it should be added as primary label. It should be added as secondary label when a primary label appears and there are no EMI Electrola roles. When EMI Electrola appears with a company role it should be entered like that. The 'EMI Electrola' logo will likely also appear on releases of the following labels: Apple Records (LC 1074), Arista (LC 3484), Bell Records (LC 0130), Capitol Records (LC 0148), Colorit (LC 4008), Deutsche Harmonia Mundi (LC 0761), Electrola (LC 0193), EMI (LC 0542), Harvest (LC 1305), His Master's Voice (LC 0233), Immediate (LC 0009), Liberty (LC 0249), Motown (LC 0881), Papagayo (LC 6712), Probe, Private Stock (LC 3475), Purple Records (LC 2546), RAK (LC 1750), Tamla Motown (LC 0363), The Rocket Record Company (LC 3053), United Artists Records (LC 0379), etc. In 1972, EMI Electrola GmbH was established and the new company set up a trademark for its products: EMI Electrola. The logo was used until 2002, when EMI Electrola GmbH was merged with Virgin Schallplatten GmbH to become EMI Music Germany GmbH & Co. KG.
