BRDG

BRDG (Antwerp, Belgium) is an experiment with everyday routine. One of the many bridges over the train tracks connecting Antwerp-Centraal Station to Antwerp-Berchem Station houses BRDG. Its rather specific location under an archway determines the initiative’s exceptional modes of functioning as an open-air space for art. Artists are invited to create a public work in the area surrounding BRDG. The bridge is frequently used by cyclists and pedestrians from neighbouring communities who, manoeuvring from one side of the city to another, cross physical borders between the diverse neighbourhoods.
