Universum

Label of German mail order house Quelle. Universum succeeded the Quellux label as internal brand of Quelle around 1960. Quelle was exclusive retailer and distributed the records via its mail order catalogues. The label didn't make own recordings, but licensed or instructed external companies with production of music. Universum was Quelle's own brand (also used for TV sets, fridges, cameras and so forth). Universum continued as a record label until around 1964.
