Sony Music Entertainment AG

Sony Music Entertainment record company in Switzerland until 2004-2005. Before the establishment of Sony Music, its subsidiary was CBS Schallplatten AG. With the Sony BMG merger, it merged with BMG Ariola (Schweiz) AG, which established the company called Sony BMG Music Entertainment (Switzerland) GmbH. Unlike most other international operations of Sony Music or other multinational record companies operating in Switzerland, Sony Music that was operated in Switzerland before Sony BMG merger does not have a country name. Also, when they merged with Sony BMG, and continued with the later Sony Music company, the legal status was modified from AG to GmbH. Similar manner happened in Austria, with Sony Music Entertainment (Austria) GesmbH, changed from being GesmbH to GmbH when Sony Music merged with BMG, and this legal status will continue under Sony Music's current Austrian company, Sony Music Entertainment Austria GmbH.
