Västra Götalandsregionen

Swedish region (VGR) is a region that includes Västra Götaland County with 1,756,034 inhabitants (2022). The Västra Götaland region, like other regions, is primarily responsible for society's publicly funded health care. The Västra Götaland region is also responsible for public transport in the county through Västtrafik. In addition, the Västra Götaland region also has a certain responsibility for regional development in the county and carries out cultural activities.
