NDSM

Ship wharf in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In use during 1922-1984 for its original function. The name NDSM was created in 1946 when 'Dutch Shipbuilding Company' (DSM) merged with the 'Nederlands Dock Company' (NDM). Empty buildings were squatted in the late 80's and the wharf has since grown to be a settlement for artists and creative startups. A plethora of different cultural events are organized on its grounds, i.e. a yearly theater festival, a robotica challenge, concerts and raves.
