Rhein-Main Schallplatten-Produktion GmbH
Настоящее имя: Rhein-Main Schallplatten-Produktion GmbH
CBS Germany's 7" pressing plant, located in Ober-Erlenbach / Bad Homburg, near Frankfurt/Main. Operating under this name between 1965 and 1985.
Originally established end of 1962 by Bernhard Mikulski as "Rhein-Main Schallplattenpresswerk GmbH", it was renovated, extended and finally renamed in 1965. Initially consisted of a vinyl mastering and 6 record presses. Also called "Rhein-Main Schallplatten". In 1985 the plant moved to the town of Merenberg and was renamed RM-Schallplattenpresswerk GmbH.
This plant mostly pressed 7"s from the German CBS and related labels.
The records have characteristic runouts: hand etched nnnn-A- / nnnn-B- (often in combination with SST). On the paper labels, they feature a Made in Germany at six o'clock, GEMA at 3 o'clock, and a German copyright ring text.
Not to be confused with Dutch CBS pressings with BIEM/STEMRA, that have a stamped xx_nnnn_yA_I/_yB_I in the runouts. Additionally, they often feature a "NL", "01" or both in the runouts.
CBS 12"s and LPs were never pressed by this plant but by different plants in Germany and, from 1970 on, usually by CBS, Holland.
'008' (etched prefix) - generally used on German pressings of Ariola Eurodisc GmbH releases (only in addition to Sonopress stampers), either on its own or in combination with 'Made in Germany' or 'M̶a̶d̶e̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶G̶e̶r̶m̶a̶n̶y̶'. In such cases, lacquer/plating/metal work was most likely (but not necessarily) made by Sonopress, hence please credit additionally: Lacquer Cut At / Mastered At - Sonopress.
