Municipal Auditorium, Austin

Auditorium and concert venue in Austin, Texas opened Jan. 5, 1959. Thousands of artists have played there ranging from Elvis Presley to AC/DC. In 1981, it was rededicated and renamed the Lester E. Palmer Auditorium in honor of a former mayor. 95% of the building was recycled in order to create the Long Center for the Performing Arts which opened in 2008 at the same location.
