U.S. record company (1946 - ca. 1950). This company was founded in early 1946 by Sollie Abrams. Alert specialized in race material, with an artist roster that included Champion Jack Dupree and Brownie McGhee. The Alert label issued releases in a 200 series (pop/jazz), a 400 series (blues) and a 600 series (gospel). The company introduced a children's label (Kiddie Time) in late 1948. The company underwent reorganization in summer 1948, during which offices were moved to 2413-A 65th St. Brooklyn, NY. Alert suspended operations in early 1950, and sold Kiddie Time masters to Jerry Blaine (2).
