Formerly known as Hippo Records, the label changed its name to avoid conflict with Universal.
Riverhorse Records was setup as a joint venture between Robin Godfrey-Cass and Sony Independent Network Europe (SINE) in early 1998.
Other members of staff included Hillary Shaw, general manager and Angela O'Connor, A&R.
