Monty Funk Productions was formed in 1997 by Peter Nash (5) who is the Managing Director, initially to supply production and facility services to the BBC. Since then the company has grown, becoming an independent supplier in its own right for BBC Radio 4, Radio 3, Radio 2 and the BBC World Service. Despite challenging times for the creative industries, the development of Monty Funk's business model enabled it to expand, increasing the number of prestigious clients with whom they are proud to work. Good planning, tenacity, professionalism and communication delivers in turn the best possible product for their clients. The acquisition of WalkingAudio Guides sees a further expansion in a long term commitment to business growth and development, along with the recruitment of more creative staff. Monty Funk has also been adding associates in the form of experienced, BBC-trained producers and directors, each of whom brings their own creativity to the mix. Monty Funk has well over 20 years of experience in sound recording, video production, graphic design, as well as programme making for the BBC, museums, audio installations and broadcasters around the world. Peter Nash's background is in sound design. He was an assistant recording engineer in Brighton in the 1980s, before moving abroad to work in the Middle East and then Paris, returning to England to become chief engineer at Revolver Music and a freelance producer for Sony, EMI and Polygram. He built up his extensive knowledge of high-end sound editing while working as a Studio Manager for BBC Birmingham at Pebble Mill.
