ZEISS is a leading global technology company in the optical and optoelectronic industry. The main location of the company founded in Jena in 1846 is Oberkochen, Germany. Until the Second World War, Zeiss Ikon AG was one of the most important camera and cinema projector manufacturers and world market leader in narrow-film cameras. Founded in Dresden in 1926, the company, which was renamed Ikon AG in 1989, is now part of Assa Abloy Sicherheitstechnik GmbH and only produces locking and security technology products under the "IKON" brand.
