Yeah! Brother Records was started by Octarve Anderson, Jr., a major label recording artist, arranger and producer, in 2000. Octarve has been involved professionally in the music business over 15 years. Signed to MCA records in 1992 with a three man vocal R&B group "Front Page".
Prior to signing with MCA, Octarve and Front Page (4) wrote two theme songs and bumper music for Television. The first for an HBO Show called "News To Us" which ran for 4 consecutive months. The second for an NBC show called "Sunday's Best" (a show about the history of television). Front Page also appeared on the show each week which ran 4 weeks. In 1995 Front Page (4) was caught in the middle of a massive reorganization by MCA Records when the label was purchased by Seagram's. Many of the executives and signed artist were released from their obligations, Front Page among them. The band continued to tour and do what they loved to do, create music for their fans. But after several years Front Page (4) disbanded.
Octarve whose ambitions were always grounded in the business aspect of the music industry decided to leave Los Angeles and move to Atlanta. Octarve recalls, "My love for music is what kept me pushing through the turbulent times. My dream prompted me to leave the "City of Angels and move to Atlanta to start my own music production company, "Yeah! Brother Records". Atlanta has given me new focus and the freedom to redirect the energy and creativity that has always dwelled inside of me. Here I discovered some bright and talented shining stars."
As a fact, over 80 percent of all recording artists never get heard on the radio. So you as music lovers get cheated from hearing great music that, that by right should be recording stars. Our mission is to create the avenue by which many of these great artist can be heard. Yeah! Brother Records has solidified itself as a mainstay in the music industry and promises to provide a major impact in the quality of music that is being released through independent record labels. Not willing to settle for anything less than superb, Yeah! Brother records has signed artists in a variety of genre's. The Yeah! Brother Records story is only just beginning...
