Times Square Records (4)

1960's US label from New York. Started by Irving "Slim" Rose, the original owner of Times Square Records (the record store). The label issued previously unreleased recordings from the doo-wop era as well as reissues. The first 2 issues were numbers 421-422 (1961) and then they started at number 1 in December 1962 going to 37 in May, 1964. For some reason, numbers 1-11 were re-used in September, 1964, then 101-107 were used later in '64. There was an interim period when numbers 93-100 were used by new owners in 1966 and then the label and store were dormant for a while until Louis Silvani bought the store sometime in the late-60's and re-activated the label for the last 3 releases (110-112) in the early 70's. BR9-3458 appeared on many Times Square releases. It was the telephone number of the Times Square Records Store. For unofficial use of the brand, see Times Square Records (5).
