Street Sounds Main Series
Настоящее имя: Street Sounds Main Series
Calling this series Street Sounds Main Series came from the label's own website at the time that this series was created here. The URL now linked here is the current official website for the label and this still refers to the "Main Series".
The releases were marketed as a series, hence the use of sequential numbering, and the use of the name "Street Sounds" was initially to start this series of compilations (thus "Edition 1" etc) - the parent label was Streetwave. The Street Sounds series moniker was then expanded to other series - Electro, Jazz etc. The releases in this series started with the Street Sounds "scribble" logo which then changed to the "block" logo later on in the series. The earlier editions had the strap line "One Hour Packs of the Latest Dance Tracks".
Morgan Khan, the label founder, said in an interview in 2013 "Street Sounds 1 did OK. 2 tripled. In ’83 we dropped a new series, the Electro series, to coincide with the main series". The series became known as the main series to differentiate it from the other newer ones.
