US label from the late 1950s. This Warner label was formed by Bob Shad after he left Mercury. The A&R man at Warner was Leroy Kirkland and the label was active for only a few months in early 1958. Apparently Warner Brothers, who were about to start their own record label, paid Shad for their exclusive use of the “Warner” name and Shad closed his little label. However, later that year he launched his successful Time, Brent and Shad labels.
