Nor-Va-Jak

Nor-Va-Jak was an American record label founded by Norman Petty. Though Petty founded several labels, Nor-Va-Jak was his first independent label. The label's name was a combination of the members of The Norman Petty Trio: NORman Petty, VA for his wife Vi Petty (Violet Anne Petty), and JAK for Jack Vaughn (6). There are only 9 artists originally released on 45/78 this label: Johnny Savage Quintet, Delmar Shirley, Norman Petty Trio, Vi Petty, Ken James, Juanita Jordan, Sonny West, Myron Lee & Bill Sego. There was 1 LP by The Bowman Brothers. Any other artists listed were late '80s productions Norman had no involvement with (released with Vi Petty's authorization), early Leann Rimes releases, or bootlegs.
