Dom, Braunschweig

The Braunschweig Cathedral has been built in memory of is Henry the Lion, Duke of Saxony and Bavaria (d. 1195). Since the death of his wife, the English Princess Mathilde, it is also the grave of the Welf dynasty. With its Romanesque art works, the Basilica is one of the outstanding cathedrals in Germany.
