Edizioni Periferia

In 1986 in Poschiavo, a town on the very edge of Switzerland, Flurina and Gianni Paravicini-Tönz founded Galleria Periferia, an unconventional venue for exhibitions, concerts and readings. After moving to Lucerne in 1992, they consolidated their publishing activities by establishing Edizioni Periferia. The core focus gradually shifted from exhibitions to publishing. The books, editions, videos and DVDs represent an engaging palette of interests addressed by internationally renowned artists. The publications are self-contained works, issued in small, usually limited and often numbered editions. Their subject matter may be a work of art, an installation, a performance or a theory, which the artists wish to preserve for posterity.
