EMI-Brigadiers (Pty) Ltd.
Настоящее имя: EMI-Brigadiers (Pty) Ltd.
EMI-Brigadiers (Pty) Ltd. was formed in early 1973 as a joint venture between EMI Ltd. (EMI) local South African subsidiary E.M.I. (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd. and local company Brigadiers (Pty.) Ltd.
This was done "with the object of creating SA record and tape products and marketing and selling these together with the total catalogs available to both companies" which included material licensed by Brigadiers, Columbia, EMI, HMV, Nitty Gritty, Parlophone, Pye Records, Stateside, and others. Music publishing interests were jointly operated, and the company fell under the combined leadership of Gordon Collins (MD of EMI SA) and Albie Venter (chairman of Brigadiers).
The "label" disappeared around 1983 (presumably after having been bought out by EMI SA) -- although the Brigadiers name did continue to live on in the form of a film production company under Albie Venter (who passed away in 1990).
