The Portsmouth Locarno

Music venue that existed in Portsmouth. Mainly a dance venue and nightclub, it became a host for rock, punk & new wave acts to perform (c. 1972 - 1984), before reverting to a dance venue. Also known as Mecca Locarno, Mecca Dancing, Mecca Social Club, Locarno Ballroom and possibly other variations. Around the late 1980s, it became known as Ritzy's. Present status unknown.
