Purple Haze Records
Настоящее имя: Purple Haze Records
Between 2002 and 2006 Purple Haze Records released a series of Hendrix titles, backed by an advertising campaign in the press.
The recordings were leased by John Hillman (who was the lawyer involved in Yameta Co. Ltd. along with Mike Jeffery and Chas Chandler), allowing Laurence Miller and his Purple Haze label a four year exploitation of various recordings.
Hillman claimed that he had the legal rights to the Hendrix catalogue and not Experience Hendrix.
After the release of Stockholm Concert Purple Haze Records was sued by Experience Hendrix and lost the case. Despite this, Purple Haze Records continued to put out Hendrix material for a while until they were finally stopped (or until the contract with Hillman had expired).
The rights to these illegal releases were then bought by Fuego Entertainment who planned to re-release the lot and some further titles. Legal threats from the Hendrix Estate managed to stop these plans.
