Erich Pabel-Verlag

German publishing house Founded in 1949 by Erich Pabel in Rastatt, Baden, with just 21 employees, with a focus on puzzle books and dime novel series. In the 1960s, the company also released both regular 7" records on the Favorit (4) label and numerous 7"-inch flexi discs. Some of the flexi labels were linked to the novel series the press published, such as Schallplatte Zum Klingenden Landser and Schallplatte Zum Klingenden Liebesroman. The company also released the budget label Prima (5), which sold for 90 Pfenning. It initially appeared on white 7" flexi discs but later on regular 7" black vinyl records. In addition, the Erich Pabel-Verlag distributed Fix Und Foxi flexi-discs, singles, and cassettes in cooperation with the Rolf Kauka Verlag in Munich, which were inspired by Kauka's popular children's comic. In 1970, the company was acquired by Heinrich Bauer Verlag, Hamburg, and merged with Moewig-Verlag to form Pabel-Moewig Verlag KG.
