Welcome To Old Blue Records!
In 2003, I founded OLD BLUE RECORDS, LLC as the vehicle to make available some of the old-time music that I recorded - some with Dave Freeman and a lot with Rich Nevins - between 1965 and 1973. Even though much of that material had been released by 2003, a great deal of it never made it to LP. And much of the LP material is now out of print.
Old Blue’s horizons expanded after I met up with Kinney Rorrer, in 2006. After hearing only a couple of tunes from the New North Carolina Ramblers, I knew the band’s music, as well as other musicians’ playing of traditional music in the “old way”, was very much in line with Old Blue Records’ focus on old time rural music, for the most part featuring the traditional instruments: fiddle, banjo, and guitar.
