Jazzwerkstatt Peitz

Annual jazz workshop/festival in Peitz, East Germany (now Brandenburg, Germany), organized by Jimi Metag and Ulli Blobel between 1973 and 1981. The first concerts were organized in the local film theater. Later it turned into an open air festival with an audience of several thousand people. From 1982 the East German authorities banned the festival. In 2011 Ulli Blobel revived the Jazzwerkstatt Peitz and has since organized it in Peitz annually.
