World Record Treasures

Series run by World Record Club in its early days. In a rather convoluted distinction, LPs were issued as "Treasures" or "Extras", Treasures forming the standard release schedule. In the UK, Treasures were classical, and club members were designated as World Record Treasure Members on early sleeves. In Australia, sleeves bore the legend "Another World Record Treasure", but there was never any membership distinction. The concept had been dropped in the UK by 1960, but lasted into 1962 in Australia, and other schemes, like the Dividend or Ambassador LPs, were introduced.
