Minit
Настоящее имя: Minit
Also appears as "Minit Records".
Label founded in New Orleans by Joe Banashak, a local record distributor, and Larry McKinley in 1959. Soon after signing a distribution deal with Liberty, it had a No. 1 hit in 1961 with Ernie K-Doe's "Mother-in Law".
Allen Toussaint, Irma Thomas, & Aaron Neville also recorded for the label.
Toussaint was the house producer in their peak years between 1961 & 1963, including the production of "Mother-in Law".
It was sold to Imperial after the hits stopped; Imperial was itself bought by Liberty in 1963. The label was relaunched as a soul music label later in the decade with Bobby Womack and Ike And Tina Turner on its roster.
Minit, along with the Imperial and Liberty labels, were closed down and consolidated into United Artists Records in 1970.
