The Oakland Metro Operahouse is a black box theater and performing arts center located at 522 2nd Street - Cross-Street Washingon - in downtown Oakland CA / Jack London Square. The Oakland Metro Operahouse is a project of the Underworld Opera, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
The venue first opened on December 1, 2001 with the Oakland Opera Theater's production of Gertrude Stein's Four Saints in Three Acts. It is equipped with a full theatrical lighting system, state of the art sound reinforcement and a full bar.
