Sight and Sound Music Workshop was set up in 1985 just after the miner’s strike, primarily to alleviate the problems of unemployment within the Dearne area, through music. Offering a cheap, friendly community recording facility and band rehearsal room, and run by volunteers on a non profit status. Sight and Sound moved premises from an inadequate old hall to a purpose built studio within the Dearne Valley Venture building, Bolton on Dearne, in 1991.
