Gelbe Musik

Berliner record store and gallery founded in December 1981 and run by Ursula Block until April 2014 for visual & sound artists on records, as well as all kind of contemporary and experimental music. The idea to found Gelbe Musik (Yellow music) came to Ursula Block while establishing a collection of music recordings in the framework of the exhibition Für Augen und Ohren (For eyes and ears) at Akademie der Künste (Berlin, 1980). The name Gelbe Musik refers to Wassily Kandinsky's thoughts on the relation between colours and (musical) sounds.
