Happy Records was a Malaysian recording company, first established in the early seventies, as Happy Record Electronic Enterprise Sdn. Bhd.. It would change its name during the mid-seventies, with 快樂唱片機構有限公司 being used as a company name mainly in Chinese repertoire. The labels were H.R.C. and Happy (13) for Chinese and Malay releases, respectively. Great Union Organisation Sdn. Bhd. and White Rabbit Record were also related to the company.
During the late eighties and nineties, the logo used was similar to Taiwanese record company, Linfair Magnetic Sound Ltd. before they were acquired by PolyGram (60% stake) to form the Taiwanese subsidiary of Decca label. The label was renamed Linfair Records Ltd. when Universal Music withdrew from the partnership in 2002. The logo lasted until 1997, when its catalogue were acquired by EMI (local subsidiary: EMI (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd). Happy Records disappeared, and its parent company would establish a new division, called Special Marketing Division.
Album codes differ between releases during the late seventies and early eighties. The earlier codes were HE #### and HLP #### for EP and LP releases, respectively. The latter's code were three digits in the late seventies and early eighties. Malay repertoire uses different catalogue with GLP ###. In the late eighties and nineties, its album code were the same for LP and cassette, 9####, but the same album on CD format includes the HCD identifier before the album code.
