BBC Brown Boveri

Former Swiss electrical engineering group based in Baden. Founded in 1891 by Charles Brown and Walter Boveri, at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries it became a leading international company specializing in the manufacture of electrical machines, turbines and electrical equipment for locomotives. In 1988, the BBC merged its business with Sweden's ASEA to form ABB (2).
