WMGM Studios

Former New York radio station in the 1940s and '50s. Capitol Records did not have its own recording studio in New York during that time, so WMGM's studios were used for many Capitol jazz sessions in the 1940s. In 1952 WMGM bought an interest in Fine Sound, and in 1953 the studios would be known as Fine Sound/Fine Sound Studio/Fine Sound Studios. Many memorable sessions for Verve Records and other jazz labels were recorded there.
