Urban Pacifika Records

An independent Polynesian record label in New Zealand, started in the early 90's by musician and producer, Phillip (Phil) Fuemana [b. 6-1-1964 d. 28-2-2005], who was also a founding member of the group OMC which made his younger brother Pauly Fuemana famous. Urban Pacifika was a pioneer for Hip-Hop and RnB in New Zealand. Many of today's Polynesian artists can claim a connection to Urban Pacifika in one way or another. From 2006 the "Phillip Fuemana Most Promising Artist Award" will be awarded at the Pacific Music Awards, generously sponsored by the Fuemana family in memory of Phil.
