The House of the Unions, a building with an amazing history, is one of the pearls of old Moscow. The classicist house was built in the first half of the 18th century for Prince V.M. Dolgoruky-Krymsky. In 1784, the Moscow noble assembly bought the house for balls and receptions. The House of the Noble Assembly, reconstructed by the outstanding Russian architect M.F. Kazakov, becomes the center of public life in Moscow. The Great Hall of the Noble Assembly is famous for its excellent acoustics as the best concert hall in the city. Within its walls, author's performances by N.G. Rubinstein / Николай Григорьевич Рубинштейн, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Camille Saint-Saëns, Richard Strauss, Franz Liszt, Feodor Chaliapin and other great composers and performers.
During the Soviet Union, congresses of deputies, creative evenings and concerts, New Year trees for children were held in the House of the Unions.
