Ixthuluh

IXTHULUH Music GmbH Ixthuluh was founded by Werner Ponesch of the same titled Austrian Kraut rock band Ixthuluh. With his music, he came in touch with 70s German Krautrock and Punk bands like Ton Steine Scherben and Embryo (3). He started to organize shows for labels like Schneeball or April Records. He soon started to distribute their records in Austria. In 1977 this was the beginning of Austria's first mail-distribution. The business grew and soon he was distributing labels like Rough Trade (UK), Ata Tak, Trikont and many others. In 1985 IXTHULUH Music GmbH was started, a little label that published 30 releases till the mid-90s. In 2006 they had to stop after the crash of German distributor EFA that owned 70% of Ixthuluh at that time.
