Jazz Man Record Shop
Настоящее имя: Jazz Man Record Shop
The Jazz Man Record Shop in Hollywood, CA, founded in 1941 by David Stuart. The shop released the Jazz Man (2) label.
By 1944, the shop had been taken over by Marili Morden and Nesuhi Ertegun (they married in February 1946) and moved to 6331 Santa Monica Blvd. In 1944, they recorded eight discs by Kid Ory's Creole Jazz Band and released them on their Crescent (6) label between 1945 and 1946.
In January 1947, Nesuhi Ertegun acquired the rights to the Jazz Man (2) label name from David Stuart; he discontinued Crescent (6) and and began releasing a redesigned, green Jazz Man (2) label that looked similar to the earlier Crescent (6) label. This second version of the Jazz Man label was acquired by Lester Koenig of Good Time Jazz in 1952.
