Mystery Lawn Studio

Mystery Lawn studio is the headquarters of San Francisco-based pop band The Orange Peels. The band has composed and tracked part or all of their albums here. Band leader Allen Clapp uses it as his own personal melody workshop, and he produces songs for likeminded musicians, too. Mystery Lawn has two pianos (a 100-year-old upright and a 100-year-old baby grand), vintage Altec 604 monitoring, a hand-built vocal microphone, some nice tube and solid state preamps, compressors and vintage guitar amplifiers. The studio began life in a Sunnyvale, CA Eichler, and relocated to the Santa Cruz Mountains in late 2013/early 2014.
