Coronet Records was a regional San Francisco-based label founded by Dixieland trombonist Jack Sheedy around 1948 and responsible for the first recordings of Dave Brubeck (1949). When Sheedy could not pay Dave Brubeck for his work, Brubeck bought the matrices for his recordings so they could be re-released on Max and Sol Weiss' Fantasy label.
