Record label from Montreal who specialized in alternative and punk bands. Active from 1984 to 1987.
The music label was created in 1984 by show promoter Dan Webster and Randy Boyd. They started Psyche Industry Records as the Musicians Promotional Assistance Society, releasing the Primitive Air Raid compilation. It was mostly paid for by a benefit show entitled Freedom 84, which took place on June 16, 1984 at Salle Louis De France on Duluth Street in Montreal. In 1985, the label released another compilation, [r1696219]. Psyche Industry also re-released the [r1472620], that had been released on First Strike Records (4) in 1984 but was out of print. They released a total of eight LP's in 1985, including records by Montreal bands The Nils, Asexuals, S.C.U.M. (4), Disappointed a Few People and NoMeansNo before folding in 1987.
