Grammoplast AB
Настоящее имя: Grammoplast AB
Defunct Swedish pressing plant.
Records pressed here can commonly be identified by ‘GP’ or ‘Grammoplast’ etched in the runouts, often found alongside a date (yymmdd or dd/mm-yy). The official test pressings of the company can be identified by ‘Provskiva’ printed on the labels, meaning ‘test pressing’ in English.
Company history.
In the early 60's, company founder Svante Rääf (1927-2012) was invited by Sture Wahlberg and Olle Nyqvist to take over an existing record pressing plant (name unknown).
The label GP and GP-Produktion started using a logo in the 60's which later Grammoplast also did. These businesses were most likely related.
In 1969, the name Grammoplast was used for the first time, while the pressing plant was located on Rörstrandsgatan 37. Sometime in 1976-77 it moved to Spånga. The building was originally a milling stone factory, later a carpentry. Ca 20 workers were employed at the time.
In 1986, they bought the vinyl pressing business part from Toolex Alpha.
Productions seemed to have stopped in 1992, coincidentally when Svante Rääf turned 65.
