The CowTown Ballroom, Kansas City
Настоящее имя: The CowTown Ballroom, Kansas City
The Cowtown Ballroom was a music venue that lasted for just over 3 years in the early 1970s, but became legendary in the Kansas City music scene. Located a few minutes south of downtown, the building's open upstairs space served as a jazz club called El Torreon in the 1920s, then a skating rink, then as the Cowtown Ballroom, hosting groups like Frank Zappa. The location would eventually be known as the El Torreon again, once as a punk venue located on the ground level in the late '90s-early '00s, and again as a live music space/church in the early 2010s. The upstairs space operated as a flea market called the Cowtown Mallroom in the early 2010s, hosting occasional Sunday matinee performances from local musicians.
