British label; name derived from Academy Sound and Vision.
Label Code: LC 7967 / LC 07967
ASV Records was a London-based record label set up in March 1981 by Harley J. Usill, founder of Argo Records, Decca producer and former Argo general manager, Kevin Daly, and producer Jack Boyce, after Argo's parent company Decca was bought by PolyGram in 1980. Initial releases were drawn from the Enigma Classics catalogue.
In 1999 the label was bought by Sanctuary Records Group Ltd., and Sanctuary Classics reissued 21 releases on the 'ASV Platinum' label to celebrate the 21st anniversary of ASV in 2002.
