The Sticky Label (3)
Настоящее имя: The Sticky Label (3)
A label I formed in 1982 after being cajoled into doing so by local punk/new wave band Data Control who used to come into my record shop in Wolverhampton's Lichfield Street.
Subsequently got approached by a number of other bands, so released singles on several of the better local Wolverhampton and West Midlands outfits. All wrote excellent material and were accomplished musicians.
I continued to release product until c.1985 when the Oldbury band Bambootique laid down tracks for a single.
Two Reggae singles (including the excellent "Zimbabwe") never got to the pressing stage. The same fate befell the 100 Days single, although the excellent rock double-header by Myriad did get pressed, but poor label printing led to it being withdrawn (although a few got out).
It was a great, exciting time and I have no regrets about trying to put Wolverhampton on the Indie/Punk music map.
Yours sincerely,
Ian 'Pep' Pereira.
