Elen Records

Elen Records was lithuanian pirate label active in 1997 - 2004. Operated on UAB "AZBI" professional cassette mastering / duplication equipment. All cassette releases has high quality silk printings on cassette shells with album artists, album titles, compilation titles and tracklists. Some has "ELEN Records" logo or "THE BEST SOUND" printings (see in label images gallery). Most albums and compilations releases was copies from other pirate labels and other unofficial releases. Many releases was without any label logo on covers only with catalog numbers. Label by catalog numbers can be recognized as follows (with examples by the year): 1997-1999: "00101" - catalog number without release year meaning. 1999-2000: "99201" - first two digits means release year (1999), last three release number. 2000: "00365" - first two digits means release year (2000), last three release number. 2000-2002: "465" - in the market appeared releases with three digit catalog numbers. In 2001-2002 continuing catalog can be found with "Leo Company" logo. 2003: "03015" - first two digits means release year (2003), last three release number. Some releases in 2000 - 2003 was without any catalog numbers, they can only be recognized by the silk printings on the cassette housning. CD's with ELEN Records logo in the market appeared in the end of 1999 (in parallel with FR Company CD's). CD's, perhaps, was pressed by orders in Ukraine, Poland and Russia by unknown CD manufacturing plants. Many releases in year 2003 - 2004 was duplicated in Lithuania on blank CD-R discs with professional colour silk-printings. Covers was without label logo just with fake barcodes.
