G Unit is an American record label specializing in hip hop music. It was founded by 50 Cent and his manager Sha Money XL in 2003. It operates as a subsidiary of, and is distributed by Universal Music Group through Caroline/Capitol Records. Formerly, from 2003 until 2014, it was a subsidiary of Interscope Records.
