EMI Studios, Johannesburg

Recording studio in Johannesburg (South Africa), founded by EMI in 1951. In the early 1980s it moved to a larger two-studio complex and was eventually renamed Powerhouse Studios (2) for EMI to be no longer associated with Apartheid. Engineers who worked here: Phillip Nel, Ian Martin, Fab Grosso, Glen Pearce, Owen Wolf, Jeremy George (2), Leo Lagerwey.
