Record label which appeared in both US and UK markets. Originally launched as a subsidiary of Pickwick Records in 1979 (the one best-remembered Pickwick-era release was Chipmunk Punk, the 1980 comeback album for The Chipmunks. After Pickwick's mid-1980s bankruptcy, the Excelsior label name and logo changed hands several times. The last known owner was BCI Music, a division of now-defunct home video distributor BCI Eclipse.
The name is likely a reference to the location of the offices of Pickwick Records Division at the time: 7500 Excelsior Blvd., Minneapolis, MN55426
